  • What a misleading and deliberately inflammatory title.

    WHAT!?!?

I did not know that. I have heard their name mentioned in edu circles, but I have never looked deeply into their service.

    What. A. Shitshow.

    Peter Thiel wants your face.

Discord is here to help him get it.

Oh, good: Discord's age verification rollout has ties to Palantir co-founder and panopticon architect Peter Thiel

Discord is "experimenting" with an age authentication vendor whose major investors include Thiel's Founders Fund.

  • Mark Zuckerberg and his minions at Meta see our slide into fascism -- which Zuckerberg actively funds, and Facebook actively profits from -- as a good product launch opportunity for facial recognition stalkerware goggles.

    @menelion

How could the truly lifechanging and needed accessibility features be implemented without the Meta data extraction and stalkerware?

Let's support accessibility, and absolutely reject the people like Zuckerberg who cynically pervert real accessibility needs to further a surveillance empire.

  • So, yeah - if you people with these glasses, the chances you are in the presence of a creep just went through the roof.

Friends don't let friends wear creep and stalker accessories.

Conferences need to put a ban on Meta glasses into their codes of conduct.

  • Joku (tai siis @funnymonkey) kirjoitteli loputtomasta skrollaamisesta käyttöliittymässä (infinite scrolling), joka taitaa olla käytössä melkein kaikissa Mastodon-sovelluksissakin.
    funnymonkey@freeradical.zoneF funnymonkey@freeradical.zone

Loving this idea from @mmin - translated into English and reshared w/ permission:

"Someone (or rather @funnymonkey) wrote about infinite scrolling in the UI, which seems to be used in almost all Mastodon applications. This reminds me of my recent innovation idea that can be stolen: a smart device that you can read/experience every day and then it simply stops working, there is no content anywhere. Then the next day there's new stuff again. A bit like screen time but a more tangible experience."

@mmin Are you okay if I publish a translation of this from Finnish to English?

Onko ok, jos julkaisen tämän käännöksen suomesta englanniksi?
