Remember when we said "they're a bunch of right-wing religious fanatics" and people kept telling us to calm down?@me Honestly, I think the straight up Nazi messaging there is less messed up than the “holy war” shit they were telling the troops a few days ago.
Nobody listens much, but a significant factor in US politics for decades is an Evangelical (and other Christianist) death cult that wants a specific formula for Armageddon that requires Jews controlling Israel so the Israelis and most Muslims in the region to die in a war. So the chosen christianists can get vacuumed up to heaven or some shit and leave the rest of humanity in some sort of hell on earth.
I know, I know… sounds like crazy conspiracy talk… but it really is a core reason the US government continues to support Israel and Zionism and largely ignores ethnic cleansing and genocide of Palestinians.
Side-note: it’s all far too terrible, and if we disagree which aspect of white supremacist christianists starting WW3 is worse, that’s still 99% agreement. (Like disagreeing which local taco truck is best)
