I'll just leave this here. -
mormons have seeded all the bad shit from Silicon Valley. -
mormons are fucking death cultists and I'm sick of their influence in this country.@munin It seems they have forgotten that responding to polotical backlash is as much about managing the massess as it is about controlling the projects.
This will not end well.

Hey nerds!@sassdawe I see you have embraced passkey only.
I also found out my phone allows TWO versions of passkey.

Large is the world, short is the time. Many are the people, few are the resources. Which month has an X in it?

Do not collect the data that you do not need.@Em0nM4stodon
Step 1: Do not take extra steps to collect data you do not need
Step 2: Remove data you collected that you no longer need
Step 3: Manipulate the data you do need so it only contains what you do need, and not what you don't. -

Starting September (this year), Google will require every Android app developer to register centrally, provide government ID, and submit signing keys.@PhoenixWright @permafriday @keepandroidopen @pluralistic When you are clearly being pushed down a slippery slope, you should not be talking about the rose branch held by the pusher.

SAYING CHATGPT PROMPTS USED TO DECIDE THE CUTS WERE ILL-DEFINED@fuzzyfuzzyfungus @neurovagrant In this case I actually see why it would be easier to go after the prompt.
To go after the bot, you first have to legally prove the tech is shit. That's a high bar that the companies behind the tech are ready to at least turn into a war of attirition.
To go after the prompt gives you stated criteria and motivation - something that ironically can give you much less quibbling.

Gosh this was a (recent) first-hand lived experience.@hrbrmstr @jmcastagnetto I have had to abandon my interest in the tech for an anti-AI stance due to just how much pressure there is around AI. I can't handle this hard-sell environment, especially not with the amount of scams and scammy behavior in the industry.
-
Gosh this was a (recent) first-hand lived experience.@hrbrmstr @jmcastagnetto I will admit that the groups that do the best with this "Use AI" initiative are the ones who are able to turn it into a "Invest in improving this tool we have"...

Climate scientist finds large errors in a global climate pollution database@littlealex IF we pull together now, this can be a gift. Emissions that have gone underestimated for years can be turned into a change of greater than predicted impact.
What we must do has not changed. Perhaps though, the results of doing it has.
