  • So, I'm trying to switch over to #LibreOffice on a Windows 10 operating system, using the Portable version of LO, not the installed version, and my em dashes are not showing up as em dashes.

    @WeirdWriter glad to help.

    My testing has also found though that it won't auto do em dashes with spaces after and before the surrounding words. It does an en dash in those instances.

    But as I've always worked with style guides where spaces around em dashes aren't used, it's not an issue I've picked up on previously.

    @WeirdWriter so, it does an em dash if the words are touching either end of the two dashes.

    @WeirdWriter I'm a little surprised that the em dashes aren't auto formatting for you.

    When I want them, I type the word I want before it, two dashes and then whatever word I want after and then a space, and then I'm pretty sure it formats it.

    I'll boot up my laptop a sec to check.
