I take back everything bad I ever said about DDMMYY order upon realizing that 'Jan 25' is an ambiguous abbreviation under MMDDYY@ricci Rob there is one true date format and it is ISO 8601, both of these things you mention are abominations.
Have you considered writing a calendaring solution?
