The way I have Google Search set up, I can search "disregard" with no problems (for now)
merriam-webster.com, cambridge.org, cornell.edu are the top 3 results

@mhoye Good point. The housing shortage is also part of that—the workforce must be forced to have household budgets and schedules under strain at all times. (The founders of today's dominant companies got started using the slack that was allowed by the previous generation of companies, and do all they can to deny it to potential challengers.)
Is there a browser extension that changes `utm_*` tracking parameters in URLs to the Anthropic magic string? #dataDrivenMarketing #winning
Wow, I got a paradox named after me and all I had to do was go on the Monopoly Report podcast.
"the most engaged, most valuable customers are often the same people who’ve taken the most deliberate steps to make themselves less measurable by conventional ad tech, which means that if you’re an advertiser that is optimizing purely for trackability, you may be underweighting your best customers"
the full set of steps is (1) remove "AI" slop (2) block search ads (3) turn off ad personalization (4) start a blocklist (5) block click tracking (5) turn off in-browser ad features -- then it's almost back to pre-enshittification
Make Google usable again by removing AI slop, crappy sites, deceptive ads, and privacy/security risks.

@womble @tychotithonus It's not something they wanted to do, it's something they had to do to settle a case
@jjdavis and the funny thing is that Google keeps getting more and more AltaVista -ish, as on-page factors affect rank more and linking relationships among pages less
Just in case you got the "Updates to our partner ads setting control" email from Google and are wondering what to do about it/what's the catch https://blog.zgp.org/updates-to-our-partner-ads-setting-control/
