@jhpot Yeah, I went from Bittorrent Sync to SyncThing but they both provide that local-first, peer-to-peer syncing that's the real enabler here: the more you use it the more you find you can use it for.

What’s a piece of software that makes your life better, every day?@jhpot I get a lot of mileage out of Syncthing: I have one shared folder it to keep my notes and to-do lists (simple markdown files) available on all my devices, I have one folder for my music collection (DRM free mp3/ogg files) on my laptops and home server, I have another folder that keeps my phone photos available on all my devices (and thus backed up on my home server), other folders for a couple of research project, &c. It stands in for the functionality provided by a number of different cloud services and has the additional advantage of making them also work offline by keeping local copies always available.
