Amazon, Netflix, Etsy, Redbubble, just these off the top of my head would lose MASSIVE profits. We're talking millions of people no longer able to access the internet and therefore millions of lost customers.

When I used those hashtags in the comment above, it made the note "there is nothing here" to the featured hashtags 'metal' and 'industrial' go away, and I guess changed it to show I had used those hashtags one time apiece?

Because I don't see the first scenario happening. Jeff Bezos would lobby against this because it would cost Amazon millions, if not billions, of dollars. And then there are shopping sites like Etsy and Redbubble that would suffer. Netflix would go bankrupt.
And I don't see Mastodon caving in to this nonsense.
I am really trying to promote my music here, but for some reason my reach seems severely limited. By default, I am *only* seeing posts from my follows. I'm on the largest server in the Fediverse, so why does it seem like this is also happening in reverse? (No one but my followers can see MY posts)

I've been saying for a long time that if taxes go to things that hurt people: cops, prisons, Israel, the military, useless or evil politician's salaries...
And not things that help people: universal healthcare (including vision, dental, and vet care for pets) free college, free housing, free water, electricity, and broadband, a UBI and universal SNAP program, free childcare, high speed rail, etc
