@daringfireball While this is clearly the long standing way they've tracked this; I can't help but wonder if tracking iOS app downloads is a good method ("As measured by devices that transacted on the App Store on February 12, 2026.")? I tend to go months between app downloads, so I'm not sure I'm even counted.

Also would love to see the macOS numbers.

@caseyliss Indeed, you think the little red update dots on our devices we can't dismiss would be enough!
