What I absolutely love about playing jazz drums is that there's never new things to learn and be challenged by. The things you learn can also be applied to all kinds of other musical genres and styles. For example, I started playing break beats at the end of my last practice session and wasn't even planning on it, the urge just came to me, and I started applying pressed rolls to the beats. It felt spontaneous and fun.

I had previously missed this news. What stood out to me was that instead of questioning whether this was a good idea or not, or pondering whether it was about diminishing labor rights, he merely stated “yeah we’re just the first company to do it” and accepted it as inevitable. I was floored.
