by pictures i think the saw-whet is my favorite. also “named because its call sounds like a saw being sharpened on a whetstone” ok well i’ve never heard that but it sounds like a truck backing up beeping to me

- screech-owl: AWAKE, alarmed
- saw-whet owl: “hoo, me?? 🥺”
- great horned owl: “ah yes, i will pose for your photo. then you would like my autograph, i suppose”
- short eared owl: slightly offended to be perceived but knows they’re cute
- barn owl: ancient god that will haunt you in your dreams.
- northern pygmy: am borb
