  • Is it bad that, in any argument involving someone I know rather well, I automatically side with the person I know over the relative nobody they got into a fight with?
    chris@social.losno.coC chris@social.losno.co

@alwayscurious I know both sides are arguing the other side abused them, and that one side doxxed the other side. And I know all this drama is over fricking V-tubing technology. If only both sides could stay the hell away from me.

  • Look, all I'm saying is that calzones are technically dumplings.

@Vanvidum Technically, because they're large, they're more like a dump.

Is it bad that, in any argument involving someone I know rather well, I automatically side with the person I know over the relative nobody they got into a fight with? And then feel the need to vacate communities completely when this relative nobody is being invited to them one by one?

@cr1901 My dang build processes can't shallow clone, either, because I rely on commit count.

@cr1901 Maybe stupids decided to shallow clone it, so you literally can't check out anything but exactly what commit it cloned?

  • does anyone have an idea why one of my users isn't getting password reset emails from my instance?
    chris@social.losno.coC chris@social.losno.co

@monorail Is it an Outlook address? I know Microsoft's servers love to silently drop mail from servers that aren't "blessed" for some reason. It was a reason I couldn't use Outlook365 as a mail host for my own email domains.

  • Bad intent aside, I think a lot of people intuitively think 10% is a small error rate, because the things we do often enough for 1 error in 10 to compound become routine & we overlook them.
    chris@social.losno.coC chris@social.losno.co

@jwcph Could also be because lots of people still expect they'll get things wrong themselves way more often. For instance, I am constantly amazed whenever I get anything right the first try.

  • Four npm packages used by SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model) and MTA build tooling were published on April 29, 2026 with a malicious preinstall hookRE: icy.wyvern.rip/notes/akhw8j647w8j186e
    chris@social.losno.coC chris@social.losno.co

@kura @volpeon @stefan The Arch Linux package manager has the same thing, but typically you only run into malicious post install hooks in the user repository, which upstream tells you "either don't use it, or fully audit the source scripts for everything you install".
