@azonenberg how much RAM is used with an image that large + layers ? Is it I/O bound, compute?

I really don't need a new project, but I would love a clustered and/or GPU accelerated image editor for massive images. -
Is there any particular brand or model of (reasonably) modern LCD monitor that works well with various 80s & 90s workstations?@davefischer that’s a real hard one. the closest is still going to require converters as nothing like the Trinitron/DiamondTron multisyncs exist. The Dell 2407WFP-HC will handle SGI’s sync on green but you’d need a scaler / converter cables for all the oddball 54–69 kHz and 13W3 connectors.
If you want to just use any flat panel you like, scaler/converters rats nest will get you. the gbs-control could do a lot and is customizable as are the retrotink converters. Extron makes boxes that’ll cover a lot of the converting to hdmi but will still require cables. They’re reasonably priced if you find em used. eBay has a lot of those DIP-switch 13W3 adapters.
do industrial / business class plasma TVs count? NEC PlasmaSync, Pioneer and Panasonic have BNC inputs but don’t do sync on green.
