All this time I've subscribed to your Fediverse accounts (18 years??? !!!) I thought you were in some kind of creative arts work. Don't know why... I've followed your adventures at FOSSDEM &c, don't know what I was thinking.

I knew about Winter Bike To Work Day, and thought @CycleWR might have organised a group ride, maybe on Saturday. But I didn't receive that notification (the mastodon.sdf.org has been a bit sluggish lately, and I owe my mail server a bunch of technical debt).
But I wouldn't have gone on a winter ride anyway -- I'm too much of a Fair Weather Cyclist.
#BikeNite A1: I'm BikeNiting from #WaterlooRegion, where the temperature was above 0C today. There's snow on the ground (and in the bike lanes), that horrible mixture of icy, salty slush that's miserable to bike or walk through, and passing cars throw up a rooster tail of the stuff. And now that it's dipped below freezing again the roads, sidewalks, and bike lanes will be an unpassable, uneven, unrideable ribbon of snowcrete.
So no, I didn't commute by bike today.
