This is because AI use is like trolling, in that for it to be successful it fundamental needs to exploit others.
The majority of the advantages people get from AI is from shifting burden to others, not by making the total work less. For example slop written documents save the writer time at the cost of the reader's time trying to decipher the word soup.
If AI users took ownership over the quality and actually edited their slop, all their time savings disappear.
