@rahmstorf Yeah, I'm struggling to understand why it's "bleaker" that the oceans have a higher heat capacity than the atmosphere? Or if it's only the case "at present" that "humans and other life forms on the surface directly suffer only a small fraction of that energy", how is this expected to change in the future? And why?

Every responsible decision maker in politics, industry etc. should read this. -
"Any method that can be misused to surreptitiously track people's movements without their knowledge is concerning," EFF’s @cooperq told CNET.@eff @cooperq Wait, are the trackable tyre pressure readings coming from the tyres, or the car?
It seems like they'd need to be coming from the tyres, because the tyres know what pressure they're at.
But if the signals are coming from the tyres, why does it matter how old the car is? Surely you'd still be trackable in an old car, if it had new tyres on it?

It seems appropriate today to highlight the call by Wendy Hall for more females to get involved in computer science...@quixoticgeek @ChrisMayLA6 It does seem like an unexpected omission that English doesn't have separate nouns for "women and girls" or "men and boys". We have "adults" for "women and men" and "children" for "girls and boys", but not that other obvious grouping.
Although... while "juvenile" is probably the best (?) adjectival form of "child", "adult" works as both noun and adjective.

ODF is just the first of the advantages of LibreOffice> LibreOffice uses ODF as its native format rather than as a second choice, handled in an approximate manner with the aim of disqualifying ODF in the eyes of users, as Microsoft, OnlyOffice and WPS Office do.
I've tried re-reading this paragraph a bunch of times, and can't make a decent guess at what the author was even trying to say here.
