@rakoo not proposing anything other than self restraint. If you oppose the system in which you live and act, that's what you'll have to answer to. I'm not justifying it, just saying I'm opposed to violence. If you want to do harm to other people to protect yourself or your beliefs, that's on you. @viccie30 @afewbugs
@afewbugs For me it takes mental effort to initially direct my attention onto the important task, but once on-task I can focus for about four hours without much additional effort. Then I need a break. The big difference between me and my slightly ADHD husband is that I can tune out background noises and he can’t. For example, on the subway there are repetitive announcements (like “please hold on while the train is moving”). I ignore them, but he is completely distracted by them every single time they play.

@pete @suearcher @afewbugs @JimmyB Haha! When I was a kid, in the late 60s, our TV only had four buttons. 1, 2, 3, *.The * was in case one of the other three buttons broke because there were never gonna be any more than 3 channels!
@afewbugs Peter Power, a member of the National Campaign for the Arts steering committee, said it was a real-world test of what happened when people were given stability instead of precarity. “Artists on the scheme spent more time creating and less time trapped in unrelated jobs just to survive, and many became better able to sustain themselves through their work alone,” he said.
It is a testament to how good 404 media's journalism is that I continue reading it in spite of it having literally the most infuriating sign in system I have ever encountered on a website
