    Cyber and physical threats to our infrastructure are now a reality.

    To protect our airports, energy grids, and public spaces, we propose a new Action Plan on drone security with €400 million in investments.

    We are establishing a new EU Counter-Drone Centre of Excellence and leveraging AI and 5G infrastructure to detect risks.

    A united approach for a safer, more resilient Europe 👇

    @EUCommission
    "leveraging AI" like in Palestine, where people are killed via drones from Israel, based on heuristics?

      @EUCommission

      Detecting malicious drones relies on a multi sensors approach, mixing several technologies powered by AI software.

      Why?

      It will also support the development of sovereign European, AI-powered 'Command and Control' systems

      Will this so-called "sovereign" AI-powered systems breve powered by American NVIDIA chips, like the gigafactories announced so far? What makes them sovereign?

          @EUCommission, Europe could fully repay this investment in half a month of we would ditch Microsoft (Office) 365 and used some European office suite (like @CollaboraOffice ,although in Britain) or free-of-charge, like @libreoffice. And we would gain more tech sovereignty in the process and help humankind to become more peaceful, global species 🌎

              The biggest threat to your citizens is your continuous push to survaill and controll them through policies like Chat Control, Digital ID and Age Verification.

                  @EUCommission @CollaboraOffice @libreoffice @cm, yes!
                  @EUCommission funds @EC_NGI which in cascade funds some such projects, including Collabora.

                  Also, Collabora provides paid hosting for their office suite and channels the funds for further development of LibreOffice (around half of the development!), whose tech platform it uses.

                  Supporting Europe stuff to better humankind 🥰

                        @EUCommission Cyber and physical threats are real, sure. To your handful of wind turbines and the nuclear plants you proudly shut down? What grid are these drones supposed to threaten?

                        Chat Control pushing scans of private encrypted messages, age verification pilots in DK FR GR IT ES logging access via mini-wallets, and mandatory eIDAS digital ID wallets by late 2026 for tracking everything? Those are a far bigger threat to national security than imaginary rogue drones. What a clown show.

                          You know the image is upside down? …

                          - cameras usually point downwards
                          - rotors are usually on top
                          - radio communications (antennas) point towards the ground/drone operator
                          - etc

                            It's an interesting approach to first create your own threat and then ask people for taxes and payments to prevent that threat. After widespread adoption of 5G, AI, and internet technologies in every field, and achieving uncontrolled growth with these technologies, you are now expecting citizens to pay taxes and take action to address the dangers these technologies bring.

                              @EUCommission Chat Control, especially with the addition of age (ID) gating all online communication, is a MUCH larger threat than this. In fact, ID verifications everywhere increases the risk and impact of every cyber risk that already exists!
