They depicted dystopian futures where computer parts were rare and valuable and people hoarded disk drives like they were going out of style. I also remember how years later we laughed and laughed because it turned out memory had become cheap and ubiquitous. It seemed ridiculous that we'd run into shortages as they were depicted in those works of fiction.
