    UK: Floating Wetlands Plan to Boost Coastal Ecosystems

    🌊A new project will "transform" degraded coastal environments through the installation of "pioneering" floating wetlands.

    πŸ“ˆ Researchers say the approach offers a "practical, scalable solution" to the "widespread loss" of essential coastal ecosystems.

    πŸͺΈ They are designed to deliver multiple environmental benefits, including improving water quality by absorbing nutrients and pollutants.

      @joewynne

      The linked articles have a tantalizing lack of detail. I wonder how these things are built, what keeps them afloat, how the water quality improvements might be measured, where they will be located.

        @BlueDot

        Agreed!

        The UoP doesn't even provide those details. It's like they don't even know there's a Mastodon full of people who need the details.
