Here are some of my views when I went scuba diving around the other rock island on my trip last week. This area had a different underwater landscape than the one shown in my earlier post; the seafloor was much more gently sloping. Saw some interesting coral and other forms of life on the bottom here that were quite different from the other rock island. #ocean #scuba #photography

I absolutely love warm, clear water. And, with scuba diving, gliding effortlessly through that water is very special. It must be what birds feel when they glide through the air.

Yes, it's a perfect spot for small fish to take shelter from the larger ones!

Something’s fishy here! On one of my dives off of the sailboat, I discovered a barracuda and remora (suckerfish) lurking under the boat, each 3-4 feet (1 m) in length. They remained there in spite of my presence and occasionally cruised close to me. For a while, the remora attached itself to the keel of one of the hulls of the boat (upper right pic)! I had more fun near the surface watching these fish than being at the bottom that day! #ocean #scuba #nature

I think they often get fed around boats when fishermen drop off entrails while cleaning fish or some get thrown back or whatever. Even on dive boats people are often spear fishing and such.

It could also be a form of shelter from the sun. The fish I've found under moored boats have tended to be in the shadows.

No waterfall today on WaterfallWednesday, but how about a wave crashing over a large rock formation as viewed from underwater? Saw a number of such events while snorkeling around a rocky point last week. Waves were crashing regularly over the rocks--- had to be careful and not get sucked into the swirling chaos of each crash! #ocean #snorkeling #waves

It seemed to have that color in the shallow water with lots of sunlight and reflections from the bottom, but then more blue in deeper water. Either way, a nice contrast from up here in Massachusetts where the “color”’ is just very dark! 😀 🌊

I have to admit, it's a bit spooky diving off of a boat in deep water here and going straight down into the darkness without seeing the bottom at first. A faint, eerie image of the bottom eventually emerges out of the darkness. 👻
