      @Geri Oi! You lost that bet fair and square 😂 😘

      It's my birthday next week, so feel free to put that fiver in a card

      I doubt anything will come of that investigation tbh.

        @MiasAlt I don't think the Starmer eviction playout has completed yet, what with Burnham's announcement 15mins ago

        I will raise a glass on your birthday. What day of the week xx

          @Geri No, I don't either - but that wasn't the bet, madam 😉

          Pretty surprising that it was Josh Simons - a previously staunch Labour Together person - who resigned to allow Burnham to stand. I can't understand the hullabaloo around Burnham tbh. He's still a Blairite.

          It's next Thursday. You can get squiffy on my behalf - I can't handle booze any more.

            @Geri @MiasAlt Or, Reform might win both the by-election & the Manchester mayoralty.

              @annehargreaves @Geri I doubt that - the Greens took control of most of the metropolitan wards in Manchester last week. It's totally feasible in Makersfield though.

                @Geri @MiasAlt if politicians didn't spend so much time trying to **** each other over, perhaps they'd do somethong useful for the poulation.

                  @MiasAlt Burnham has been on a journey and is not as RW as he used to be.

                  It is curious that Simons, who, as you say, used to be a member of LT, perhaps he has had a Damascene Conversion, too?

                  We have cut down on our drinking, so it may be tea

                  I do not recall what the bet was. One day, when you are up on your pins, we shall meet shouting at things in London. I shall give you a fiver then xxx

                  😘

                    @Geri I'd already forgotten about it petal, so you can keep your fiver and buy yourself some nice tea

                    Re: Burnham, someone else just said it's possible he's being set up to fail because the constituency is so staunchly Deform. I was just reading a post on GPLB saying exactly that too. I'm more willing to believe that scenario than Burnham's "journey".

                      @MiasAlt @Geri Unless the LDs & Greens don't stand.
