So, a #StarfleetAcademy question (or I guess, questions): how many warp cores does an Academy Class ship / the Athena have? Just one, but it sits in the saucer section? Is that not risky? Or have we solved the issues of warp/nacelle radiation by the 32nd Century? If so, why have external nacelles at all? Are they faster / more efficient?

Also, is all of Engineering in the saucer? It looked like Reno and Mir were trying to realign stuff from a corridor, so no?

If all of Engineering is in the saucer, what is all the stuff around the nacelles at the front of the ship? Not knocking it, I love the look, but is it more quarters/classrooms/storage?

Also, if it is just the one warp core, then the nacelles can't warp on their own. So why was Nus Braka so insistent on keeping it tractored by a dozen different ships? It wasn't going anywhere once the saucer left. (Maybe he didn't know that?)

I also have questions about the Atrium...

It can remain attached either to the saucer or the nacelles, I get that (though it did take me a minute). Does it have any drive capacity of its own? I presume it doesn't also have nacelles (but then, I assumed the saucer didn't either, a la Enterprise, so what do I know?). But does it have its own impulse engines? Can it move itself between the nacelles and the saucer if needed (would that ever be needed? Probably not...)
