      So in an update from yesterday in the last week for Reform, six people gone for racism, two people died before the election but were voted in anyway. five quit as they didn't realise it wasn't paid, one quit as he thought he was standing for parliament, at least one has been found to be completely made up

        @jackeric @teabynameteabynature @Whiskeyomega

        According to this they don't get a salary, but they get an allowance designed to cover expenses. I expect the one in question thought he was going to get a fat salary.

          @Whiskeyomega I would like to know how the one who thought he was becoming an MP found out. I want to believe he showed up at Parliament and demanded to know where his office was

            @suearcher @teabynameteabynature @Whiskeyomega wow

            I was considering / being considered as a potential local authority councillor here in Scotland some years ago... they do get a salary, augmented if you join various committees, but it's low, well less than minimum wage if you actually take it seriously and put the hours in. and as I worked for the local authority I'd also need to quit my job

                Each one triggering a by-election that costs something like Β£20,000 to run.

                    @cflynnbooks @Whiskeyomega Do we have fact-checked evidence that this person is not real?
                    Waveney Valley is the constituency of Adrian Ramsay MP (Green Party). Has he picked this up?
                    Basically, is this true? - The link doesn't work for me #GreenParty

                      @AndyDearden @cflynnbooks @Whiskeyomega the BBC have debunked him not being real. They used AI to doctor the photo, which ended up being interpreted as him being entirely AI (link is to a video) https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/cp8p618kyp3o
