On my 2nd cup of coffee as I catch up on tech news this week. Here's some random articles that caught my attention.
As Quebec prepares to digitize all provincial health records starting in May, they have not secured guarantees of #DataPrivacy from the U.S. data warehouse where records will be kept.

An editorial from The Concordian suggests that Canadians need Algorithmic Sovereignty. If the student journalist was active on Mastodon they would appreciate a social media platform with no algorithm.

I gotta be honest - even after two cups of caffeine I'm confused by what this new model of social media offers. The objective of stopping tech bros from data collection and deriving value from my social media activity is admirable. But the description, to an admittedly non-techie like me, is clear as mud. Just dump everything for #Mastodon.
