@mdx TNG was always The After-School Special That Never Ends for me, and I found it sometimes interesting with some interesting performaces -- but more than that, annoyingly preachy and painfully self-aware, with some really dumb stories.

DS9 struck me more as, "What if we did TNG, but for grown-ups?"
