American tax payers will now pay for a hospital ship which will be sent to Greenland, Trump claims on Truth Social.

Let me rephrase that: The US, which does not offer free healthcare to its own people, wants it's own people to offer free healthcare… to Greenland… which already has free healthcare.

Maybe it is time for another brain scan for the US president.

Danish Hospital Ship "Jutlandia" - New Contribution to Unified Command in Korea

The hospital ship ""Jutlandia"" (8,500 gross tons) one of Denmark's contributions to United Nations aid in Korea. It took the shipyards several months to turn the former transatlantic liner into a modern, floating hospital. The cargo holds were turned into hospital wards with a total capacity of 200 patients; with additional emergency berths, the ship can take up to 400 in-patients. Three main clinics were installed with two full operating theatres. There is also a dental clinic, X-ray laboratory, dispensaries, library, etc. The total medical and nursing staff is 100, and a crew of 160 keeps the ship going. Photo shows: Presentation of United Nations flag to Commodore Kai Hammerich, chief of the expedition, by Mr. Viggo Christensen, right, Director of the UN Information Center in Copenhagen. The ship will sail under three flags; the Danish national flag, the flag of the International Red Cross and the United Nations colours flying from her top mast. The amount of money governments like this can create has no limit.

Inflation becomes a problem when the resources a market can provide do not match that investment.
This is the real limit to government spending: the people doing the work, the missing specialists for difficult tasks, the materials that are needed, missing infrastructure and so on.

Anything a government can produce can always be financed.

@markus_falk @notsoloud @Vonskinnback @randahl The US has an even more special position in this regard, at least for now: the Dollar being the de-facto world currency means that you can issue debt (print money) like there’s no tomorrow, because Dollar debt used to be a desirable (and tradable) asset. Which the US has been living off for decades, at this point.

Donald Trump ignores the vastly destructive problems he creates. As a fantasist, he prefers to invent problems that don't exist, so he can confidently and easily fix them.

So it is with saying he will send a hospital ship to Greenland, to care for the sick, something Greenland's universal healthcare system already does.

Meanwhile, Trump deprives his own people of health care and insurance, and destroys their public health infrastructure. The man is an obscenity.

I am not aware of a hospital icebreaker existing anywhere in the world.

Besides that the US has only veryvery few arctic-capable ships anyway, none of them even remotely resembling a hospital ship. It has a reason why Greenland's/Denmark's marine mostly consists of coast patrol sized boats: ever tried evading the many icebergs around Greenland with a bigger ship?

(Edit : sentence had double parts had have)

@randahl maybe they should send the ship where it's most needed. How about Louisiana?

In this it is totally his problem.

                                          Nothing moved so far.
We will see in 5 days, as that seems to be the time needed to get one of them operational.
