Let me rephrase that: The US, which does not offer free healthcare to its own people, wants it's own people to offer free healthcare… to Greenland… which already has free healthcare.

Maybe it is time for another brain scan for the US president.

@Stephenleader @randahl yes, it clearly has an epidemic of freedom & democracy, that must be crushed by the American military, Next thing we will hear is that Trump is sending them "special" blankets...

"Happy is he who forgets what can no longer be changed" comes from the operetta "Die Fledermaus" by Johann Strauss, whose libretto was written by Karl Haffner and Richard Genée.

.. However, centuries earlier, Emperor Frederick III had already adopted the Latin version Rerum irrecuperabilium felix oblivio as his motto.

.. and in this particular case, DT has certainly and fortunately already forgotten that the world will remember all these "little" scenes ..

@randahl Considering the State of American health care in general, and the stupidity of the health care practice promoted by Kennedy in detail, would it then be possible to prosecute the ship and its doctors as quacks or snake oil salesmen after the local laws in Greenland and/or Denmark? 😂

At full speed they would be there in 8days, but time to activate ist 5 days. But i can't find any reoports for this. If they would leave dock or mooring, the ship spotters would be all over it.

The amount of money governments like this can create has no limit.

Inflation becomes a problem when the resources a market can provide do not match that investment.
This is the real limit to government spending: the people doing the work, the missing specialists for difficult tasks, the materials that are needed, missing infrastructure and so on.

Anything a government can produce can always be financed.

@markus_falk @notsoloud @Vonskinnback @randahl The US has an even more special position in this regard, at least for now: the Dollar being the de-facto world currency means that you can issue debt (print money) like there’s no tomorrow, because Dollar debt used to be a desirable (and tradable) asset. Which the US has been living off for decades, at this point.

                                    @randahl

Donald Trump ignores the vastly destructive problems he creates. As a fantasist, he prefers to invent problems that don't exist, so he can confidently and easily fix them.

So it is with saying he will send a hospital ship to Greenland, to care for the sick, something Greenland's universal healthcare system already does.

Meanwhile, Trump deprives his own people of health care and insurance, and destroys their public health infrastructure. The man is an obscenity.

American tax payers will now pay for a hospital ship which will be sent to Greenland, Trump claims on Truth Social.

Let me rephrase that: The US, which does not offer free healthcare to its own people, wants it's own people to offer free healthcare… to Greenland… which already has free healthcare.

Maybe it is time for another brain scan for the US president.

@randahl no, it's time for brain removal.

If I was Greenland, I would refuse them at all ports and tell them to go the fuck home before they torpedo it or strafe it like Venezuelan boats.

@rjohnston you think he is preparing for a false flag attack on a United States ship?

@randahl It's just such a bizarre proposal. And I've never heard of an ice-reinforced hospital ship from Louisiana. Damage seems inevitable.
