Migliaia di iraniani in lacrime hanno riempito piazza Enghelab a Teheran domenica mattina  per piangere la morte della Guida suprema, l'ayatollah Khamenei, ucciso il giorno prima in attacchi aerei da parte di Israele e degli Stati Uniti. L'attacco di sabato ha distrutto il suo complesso nel centro di Teheran, ponendo fine al suo governo durato 36 anni. Nel frattempo  Israele ha dichiarato di aver lanciato una nuova ondata di attacchi contro l'Iran.

In Tehran, the crowds wept for the death of Khamenei.

Thousands of Iranians, weeping, filled Enghelab Square in Tehran on Sunday morning to mourn the death of the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, killed the day before in airstrikes by Israel and the United States. The Saturday attack destroyed his compound in central Tehran, ending his 36-year government. Meanwhile, Israel has declared it launched a new wave of attacks against Iran.
