i've found a new mechanism to stop me from opening news sites while doomscrolling. custom ublock filter to delete the entire home page, e.g.

www.seattletimes.com##body.home

still can read articles if i'm linked to them, but i can no longer be pissed off about clickbait homepage-only headlines and their idiotic editorial slants
