I have always found it difficult to adopt a carefree attitude and just "go with the flow". When on holiday, it is more likely that I will create a detailed itinerary and obsess about visiting every possible attraction, regardless of whether this may be detrimental to my enjoyment. As ridiculous as it sounds, failure to do this can result in me feeling as if I have somehow failed to complete the task that I have assigned myself.

During this weekend's trip to Chester (which was a birthday present from my wonderful wife), however, the most enjoyable aspect was simply walking around without a plan or having to stick to times. There is an abundance of historical sites and impressive architecture in Chester, but I was happy to visit only what was convenient. Maybe there's hope for me yet 😃
