    @futurebird the 80's were doing some fun stuff with gender, and they had more bright colors than what's mainstream right now, so I think it's probably good for them.

    @pencilears @futurebird In the 80s noone asked or discussed gender. Noone cares. I could be just another weird guy among others.

      Yeah that’s how my students feel about the 80s.

          @Raffzahn @futurebird 80's era Germany had some of the most cutting edge gender-fuck fashion on the planet.

          Doesn't surprise me that anyone who was just minding their own business didn't have to worry about it.

              @futurebird

              I have to admit I don't get the 80s nostalgia, and I was a kid back then.

              Like Magic the Gathering is doing a Ninja Turtles edition, and ... why? Or He-Man becoming a thing again.

              I don't get the rationale behind it? Does this really increase market share?

                @futurebird same as it ever was. Nostalgia will always be offputting to the people who didn't live through it

                  @clew @pencilears @futurebird Spandex had also just hit, so there was loose, tight, and combinations, something for everyone.

                    Ya - "we didn't have this gender stuff 40 years ago!".

                    Brother, did you *see* Boy George?
