you still want to be able to read the label later as you eat from the can, so i'd suggest wrapping it all in tin foil to protect the paper label.

@catsalad for best results, put the can in a bowl of salt water, that'll soak the label off whilst it is cooking.

@catsalad You can remove the label, but don't open the can - you don't want to risk getting beans all over the inside of your microwave!

I just put it in as is, and keep the lid on so it expl-... heats faster.

Scratch the label with a fork to break the plastic outer layer, then dip then can in water. The label can now absorb water, which heats up from the microwaves, and transfers the thermal energy to the can, and thence to the contents.
This is self-regulating, as once the contents are heated, the metal no longer acts as a heatsink, so the water held in the label now flashes into steam, and blows the label off the can.

@catsalad it's okay to leave the label on as long as you open the can _after_ heating in the microwave.
