      @davidaugust @YakyuNightOwl@mastodon.world I always thought it was weird that the flu started at Ft Riley, Kansas but we ended up calling it the Spanish Flu. It's like the US decided to reject responsibility

            @MaryAustinBooks @davidaugust I'm an amateur genealogist and I've read many newspapers and obituaries from that time. It was awful to see whole families wiped out from the flu. That's one of the main reasons I always get a flu shot. Too many people don't understand the power of an epidemic.
