@chad my parents bought me and my brothers a n64 when it came out, and it didn't have this.
we tried to hook it up, and had to return it, because we didn't know about the input button to toggle between modes.
a year later, after my brother when to a flea market and told the vendor about this, they explained to it to us, and didn't we feel dumb.
That helped spark my obsession with learning technology, heh
