the enshittification of Apple! I dumped Pages and Numbers this weekend due to their persistent telemetry and have long ago changed to CoMaps.
Are Apple devices still worth the premium price?? Will this be the tipping point for a mass exodus? This is no longer about making money, this is pure greed!

@chiefbongo @appleinsider @malcolmowen I guess this is to offset all of the AI spending because - shareholders, But ads harvest data, and Apple is already becoming something else. One can only hope you can turn off ads.
Also, you can turn off telemetry.

try to turn off the telemetry for Numbers and Pages, go back and open the App and check again. You'll find it turns itself back on.
If you check your DNS logs, you'll also find that Apple constantly sends your Ad-ID (iadsdk), although it's disabled.

@chiefbongo @appleinsider @malcolmowen I don't use them, but you can go to Settings/Privacy & Improvements to toggle off analytics sharing.
Also: Settings/ScreenTime/Content & Privacy Restrictions and turn off Apple advertising, tracking and a lot of intrusive features. You can also check what access each app has here.

@chiefbongo @appleinsider @malcolmowen That being the case, Apple is changing and not in a good way. But we still don't have the final shape.
