    Some people call him Maurice ‘cus he speaks of the pompatus of love.

    He was very fun to draw, love Muscovys and pretty pleased with how the caruncle turned out.

      Red smudges on the bottom right are why my mother will be perpetually disappointed that I never submit my art to the local fair. I am completely incapable of ever making a piece of art without some kind of splotch or smudge that “ruins” the original piece.
      (That and my insistence in using oddly dimensioned scraps and difficulty in properly centering things 😅 (although i did pretty good on this one))

        @Alien_Sunset as someone who submits to local fairs: unless your local fair is Very Large or Very Competitive, it’s *fine*.

        There’s also entire categories that exist that get almost no submissions, so doing the “less done” crafts can still get good placements (eg at my very local fair there’s tons of photography entries, but almost no calligraphy or block printing)

          @TindrasGrove True, and tbh, it’s been over 15 years since I’ve actually gone to our local fair, (we only recently moved back) so I don’t even really know what the competition is like.

          Even so, the perfectionist in me balks at the idea (while my adhd laughs maniacally)

            @Alien_Sunset the literal worst case scenario is you make someone go “pfffft I can do better than THAT” which, yay inspiring others!

              @Alien_Sunset

              (Or you do additional, artsy smudging all around it, so the viewer understands it as intentional...)

                @FiddleSix @Alien_Sunset I'd call the smudging a "signature". Always there, never quite the same👍
