Thinking about switching from Gmail to some other email.

Thinking about switching from Gmail to some other email. They've decided to move their purely Baynesian promotion filter under the same umbrella their AI features are under, so you can't have the first without the second, and I'm fed up. Any suggestions?
@rodneylives I've been a happy Fastmail user for over a decade with no problems. But it's not free.
I hear that importing from GMail is really simple. I haven't had to do it.
Something to consider, at least. The cost, while not that high, is a barrier for some.
Oh, and the web interface is really good.

@rodneylives been on fastmail for a while, email, calendar, and contacts.
It's definitely more advanced to integrate into devices, but it's pretty solid.

@rodneylives Fastmail does a good job for me. But they do store your email in the US.

@rodneylives ProtonMail has been working wonderfully since my switch from Gmail a year or so ago. Switching is fast and simple, includes Calendar/Planner, Docs, Meeting-App and its own AI companion - all with privacy-first approach. Hope this helps!

@rodneylives I started using Tuta Mail as I was looking for something that isn't hosted in the US.
