We didn't need to move on from the era of Xbox 360, PS3, and Windows XP. It was a time of perfect balance. Everything since hasn't been worth the enshitification-frustration cost.

@anon_opin I would rather not own consoles with terrible performance and thermal cooling issues thanks.

@anon_opin the wii was an experimental piece of hardware that had actual adoptation and games were made for It with fun intent.
The PS3 was a feast of all the classic blockbuster genres with a lot of experimentation added to try and compete against the Wii, which meant JapanStudios was a thing.
Xbox had the best tracking ever done on a camera for some reason.
XP worked. And this is the highest prise of the list.
The edgy style of the era was either your thing or the funniest thing.

@humanhorseshoes @anon_opin we are talking Microsoft here so your original point stands, but in comparison they pretty much peaked in 2002.

@humanhorseshoes @anon_opin until it got to SP3, and then it was tolerable.

@chewie @anon_opin I've always maintained that Office 2003 was/is the best version. I wish it still worked on modern machines.
