@markgrieveson It occurs to me that we need to have patience. The NDP is very unlikely to have a big showing the first election after this leadership race. They need to rebuild, and that's going to take a couple of cycles to even build up their war chest. I do wonder if that's why he's not emphasizing finding himself a seat.

Agreed. It'd be foolish for the upcoming NDP Leader to jump into an electoral race and lose. Timing is important, and now is not the time. Hopefully he can build up both the party's funding and build up the riding associations of the federal NDP to be strong advocates for the party. Right now (at least in Ontario, and likely elsewhere too), funding and staffing is mostly in the provincial wing of the NDP. The federal cupboard is bare.
Be interesting to see if he can get sufficient media attention for the NDP without a seat.
