    I see bunch of people trying Matrix due to Discord news, so:

    • Dont use Element. Its very enterprise. MS Teams but free.
    • Try out Cinny and Fluffychat instead
    • Encryption works really annoyingly. Do save the passphrase thing your client gives you.
    • But avoid using encryption unless you absolutely need it! It will break.
    • Never enable encryption for public rooms!! Only use it for 1to1 convos if needed.

    Other than those things, it's been fine. Bit slow at times perhaps. But it sends and receives text. And cinny and fluffychat let you add stickers and custom emotes (unlimited and free 🙂 )

      Some clients like Neochat allow you to start direct messages without encryption, so use that.
