        @PallasRiot we are witnessing the US becoming a religious fundamentalist nationalist state. They claim the Islamic laws are oppressing women, they really want to do the same. I think this is obvious to some people but to most, this statement probably sounds hysterical 🫠

          @kangaroo5383 There's a documentary from 2006 called Jesus Camp that explores American Evangelicals in the Quiverfull/homeschooling/faith camp movements. Many of the subjects of the movie talk really openly about how they admire and even envy Islamic fundamentalist groups like ISIS and how Christians in America should seek to emulate those groups, but even more so.

          I think a lot about how all the kids in that movie are now well into adulthood and are of the age to be political staffers, running for local office, taking over family businesses, etc
