    I’m thinking about getting a mini PC under €400 to move to Linux and start getting my hands dirty with self-hosting (home server, Docker, personal services, etc.).

    It’s been on my mind for a while, but since I’ve mostly been in the Apple ecosystem, I’ve never really looked into hardware or understood the differences between setups.

    What would you recommend right now?

      @mhussard once I get some gainful employment I’m considering one of these libreboot machines as my next computer purchase: https://minifree.org/product/libreboot-3050-micro.html

      I think it’d make a really nice home server.

        @mhussard

        First thing is to see what you want to do.

        Do you want to use Linux as Desktop replacement or as Server to host some nice Stuff?

        The key difference is if you always have a Display, mouse and keyboard connected or you use the pc „headless“ via ssh like a real Server.

        For the self hosting stuff i would use it as Server and connect via ssh from your Mac if you have one.

        What is your way?
