    #FreeBSD does not accept LLM submissions. (Technically they don't accept poor code, such as LLM output.) They're OK if you use "AI" to find flaws, like Coverity etc.

    Someone's made a list of projects that take LLM, and FreeBSD is on it. Not gonna link.

    I suspect an AI lover is engaging in astroturf.

    We need to carefully inspect claims of AI usage.

    I am not aware of any BSD project accepting LLM-generated code.

      @mwl oh, I was wondering when they would finalize their policy; do you have a link? I can't find any mention on https://docs.freebsd.org/en/articles/contributing/

        @technomancy

        full policy is still in discussion, but there's posts from core members, eg https://io.mwl.io/deck/@allanjude@mastodon.social/116320464364997890

          @mwl it appears there is either confusion, or a difference in definition of what "counts" (which is fine): https://codeberg.org/small-hack/open-slopware/issues/257

          Until I found this issue it also seemed obvious to me that AI had been accepted. The commit is in the repo, after all. I don't think it's productive to accuse people of lying or astroturfing.
