I repeat, it's physically impossible to meet any motor traffic here. So it is very peaceful, safe and comfortable to ride and walk completely uninterrupted. Just bliss.
@pekkatahkola It's -30 here in Ontario around Huntsville.
You often don't need special tires for this is kind of snow because the snow packs down but it can be displaced by the tire knobs.
The danger is in cold humid climates that hover around 0C (looking at you Jutland in DK) where the water on the bike paths freezes at night.
In Vejle DK they would send a sander or salter around the bike paths in the city around 4:00 or 5:00 so the commuters had a fighting chance against the ice.

My love of snow and ice grows as I get older. I used to get frustrated by the inconvenience and discomfort that can come with it, but when you accept winter's rules and work on it's terms it's an opportunity for a lot of pleasantness, joy and coziness.

@tg9541 Wondering that too. Poor fella might have been damaged and or stolen, and abandoned, and/or maybe set aside by the snow plow driver. Still seems mostly bicycle-shaped though. No idea

I love it, but I can’t stop thinking that biking on what looks like a frozen sugar glaze has to be way more dangerous than these calm photos suggest
@inVinnieVeritas It's absolutely magically wonderful! And I'm sure you know _snow_ isn't really slippery. Especially cold snow isn't. Ice and wet ice are. And we've got great maintenance here, so basically you could even ride this with slick racing tires
It also makes a huge difference as we don't allow cars on the same surface to destroy the grip and polish the snow into slippery ice. -

@pekkatahkola Yeah I almost busted by head open climbing over a mountain of ice just to press the pedestrian beg button to get permission to leave my house on my bike. Oulu sure sounds nice.

Slipped and fell 3 times before walking next to the bike
Took this picture to remember what caused all those falls.From memory nobody biked on the other side of the Atlantic back in the 80s to early/mid 90s.
