    French MPs are preparing to vote on a law that treats criticism of Israel as antisemitic and widely expands the scope of terrorism legislation.
    Lawmakers will debate the bill informally dubbed Yadan’s Law
    – in reference to the MP who proposed the bill, Caroline Yadan
    – on 18 April.

    Under current law, “direct” incitement to terrorism is punishable by five years in prison and a €75,000 fine.
    The bill would expand that to “implicit” incitement or glorification of terrorist acts.
    “People are going to be very afraid to talk about Palestinian rights and Israeli crimes if this law is adopted,”
    Cecile Marquerie, advocacy coordinator for an alliance of pro-Palestinian NGOs in France, told Radio France Internationale.

    Former anti-terrorism judge Marc Trevidic told Middle East Eye:
    “I’d never seen anything like it, the notion of implicit incitement to terrorism.
    Do you realise what that means? Becoming a censor of other people’s thoughts, trying to guess what a person really meant.”

      @cdarwin

      A neo fascist government does not announce that they became fascist. They announce that antifascists are an enemy of the state.

        @cdarwin

        We have witnessed the genocidal mass murder in Gaza, the decades long construction of the largest ghetto in human history, and the callous brutality of the Israeli state and its allies in the suppression of dissent (using state terrorist tactics such as the use of military weapons against nonviolent demonstrators)

          @cdarwin

          the western capitalist regime has marked Palestine for annihilation, much as the Nazis and their Krupp backers did to Warsaw.

            @cdarwin Not only is US /Maga people weird and paranoid, some French politicians seem to fit right in with them with their suppression of free speech and thought. Currently Zionists behave like fascists, call it out every time.

                Cette petite royauté fasciste que l'on appèle la macronie test la résilience des "sans dents"...
                Mais ils devront être prudent car si cela continue, les rues risquent de s''enflammer sans doute bientôt ...
