    hot take, i think: I think it's not actually all that harmful to "read into" animal behaviours and assign them an equivalent human emotion. humans in general see themselves as above or separate from the rest of nature and the 'animals don't experience love' etc. thing is another way of enforcing that human superiority, which has done vastly more damage than 'my cat loves me' ever could.

        @PsyChuan its also a good starting point for understanding animals even if there are traps

        like some people can misread cats because of it but a real focus on them remedies that

          @PsyChuan I dont think its "harmful", but it IS reductive. Reductive could work as a starting point, but "if you look for yourself in the animal, you might miss the animal itself"
