“Maintaining a professional appearance is important”

Nah, fuck that. Why would I want to spend my one precious and fleeting life on this planet suppressing my self-expression to meet others’ arbitrary standards of normalcy?

Dye your hair! Get tattoos and piercings! The rules are all made up anyway!

@themediumkahuna ironically, doing all of this and then looking dapper (in your own style) paradoxically makes you look professional as hell, imo

@themediumkahuna The normalisation of trivial matters so stupid. Like wearing a throat throttling tie at work in case higher management popped over.

@themediumkahuna This is funny because I turn 55 at the end of this month and I am proud to say I have never worn a suit in my entire life. Nor have I ever ironed anything. (and no, that's not because I had someone else do it.)

@themediumkahuna It's great once you start to look 60 nobody dares to challenge your right to wear a onesie whilst going to the shops. I'm wondering if I can push it to going out on my mobility scooter when the weather improves dressed as a pink fluffy unicorn.
