Yesterday I saw hoppers. A few thoughts:
- I generally don't like children's movies because they toy with my emotions in a way that often makes me feel uncomfortable, and they often rely on the "monomyth" story. This movie did both.
- watching a movie in 3d adds nothing to the experience, and is actually kind of distracting.
- it was very cute
- beaver 🦫
- I felt like the movie was trying to say more than what it was textually allowed to. It probably would have been better if Pixar wasn't a division of Disney.
- it still had a good, if muddled, message.
- 6/10. Worth pirating but not watching in theaters. -

Disney is definitely censoring some of the more forward-thinking creators at Pixar, tragic to think of what could have been if that acquisition never happened.
