i use only tutanota and keepassxc so far

because for messaging i prefer xmpp (it doesnt ask phone number and is still encrypted) and deltachat (it doesnt ask for email even)
as search engine i use 4get (ecosia has ai chat, maybe its private but still upsets me)
instead of linux i switched to freebsd because of recent discoveries about scripts that call non-specialized ai for discovering vulnerabilities in kernel (more of security concern than privacy concern)

all are open-source software so far

I love using Linux as my operating system. There are some huge quality of life improvements over Windows.

I have circumvented the WhatsApp issue to a degree by using Beeper. And although Beeper "needs" google play, you can alternatively use microG instead.

As a bonus, once you have signed up with Beeper, because it is built upon Matrix you can actually use any Matrix client to log in, and still have access to all you contacts which is exactly what I do on Ubuntu Touch.

@Tutanota How do you guys install linux? I am stuck with windows. I tried and it did not go well. I don't have a usb or dvd or anything and I tried the other stuff but it did not work. I am not good with technology so that is probably me.

@XNHQ I definitely recommend installing it yourself. It's a great learning experience. All you need is a USB stick to download the distro of your choice to and a tutorial to walk you through the first part of the install. Don't be shy, give it a try!

@Tutanota I use all the tools on the right (just chose a different non-Google search engine), but I haven't been able to get off WhatsApp, although I have significantly reduced the contacts who are only available there...
